sans toque after swimming
steam rises from my February head
among the cars
an old couple pivot
to the shriek of a crow
must have forgot to go
she says
I don’t know if they do
he replies
behind the man
the woman
and the crow
Edmonton freezes
solid
before me.
This appeared on a beer can in 2019 thanks to the wonderful Jason Norman and Blindman Brewing. I have a strange relationship with beer but having a poem on a can almost made me wish my dad had been alive to see it.
